Goryu opens November 21, the shared Goryu and Hakuba47 adult day ticket is ¥10,000, and Toomi runs night skiing to 21:30. Layout, prices and access.
Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba47 sit side by side at the southern end of the Hakuba Valley and share a lift ticket. Goryu is the bigger of the two. Its own slope guide lists 23 courses spread over three areas: Toomi at the bottom, Iimori to the south, and Alps Daira at the top of the Hakuba Goryu Telecabin, an eight-seat gondola that unloads at Alps Daira station at 1,515 m.
Hakuba47 is smaller. Its mountain report names five lifts, from Gondola Line-8 to the high-speed Pair Lift Line-E, and gives the mix as 30% beginner, 40% intermediate and 30% advanced. The longest run is listed at 6,400 m and the steepest pitch at 32 degrees. Route 2 is rated expert and Route 3 super expert, and 47 also runs a Tree Riding Zone for people who want to leave the groomers. Route 7 is the easy way down, a 3,600 m beginner trail.
The two areas join on the upper mountain. Early in the 2024-25 season the Hakuba Valley office noted that the only way to reach 47's Line E was the Goryu Telecabin, which gives you an idea of how the link works when 47's lower lifts are not yet running.
A simple plan for a day: warm up on Alps Daira, cross to 47 for the steeper routes and the trees, and finish back at Toomi, where the night session starts after dark.
Hakuba47's lift ticket page lists the shared Goryu and Hakuba47 prices for 2026-27. Window prices, in yen:
| Ticket | Adult (23 to 64) | Youth (13 to 22) | Senior (65 to 79) | Child (6 to 12) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 day | 10,000 | 6,500 | 9,500 | 4,500 |
| 2 days | 18,500 | 11,500 | 17,500 | 8,000 |
| 3 days | 26,000 | 16,500 | 25,000 | 11,500 |
| Half day | 8,500 | n/a | n/a | 3,900 |
| 1 day, early season or spring | 9,000 | 6,500 | n/a | 4,000 |
Early season means before December 15 and spring means after March 10. Every price includes a ¥500 deposit on the IC card, which you get back from the return machines at Hakuba47, Escal Plaza or Iimori. Children aged 5 and under and adults aged 80 and over ski free.
Buying online saves a little. A first-time online adult day ticket is ¥9,500, and if you already hold one of their IC cards, an online recharge brings the adult day down to ¥8,200. Recharges are online only, and youth tickets are sold only at the ticket center with ID.
If you plan to ride the shuttle to Happo-one or Tsugaike on some days, compare this with the Hakuba Valley pass, which costs ¥11,100 a day this season and covers ten resorts. On a day you only ski Goryu and 47, the shared ticket is ¥1,100 cheaper. Our 2026-27 lift ticket price roundup has the other Hakuba prices.
Goryu is the only resort in Hakuba Village with night skiing, according to its English site. The night session runs on the Toomi slope from 18:00 to 21:30, and the season pass page lists the night period as late December 2026 to late March 2027. The Toomi Sky 4 chairlift runs every night, and the Toomi No.2 and Iimori No.6 pair lifts run on some days of the week. The Toomi slope closes from 17:00 to 18:00 every evening for grooming.
Night tickets are sold separately. The 2026-27 night ticket costs ¥6,500 for adults, ¥4,000 for youth and ¥3,000 for children, and a cheaper ¥2,500 adult night spring ticket starts on March 8, 2027. Day tickets and the Hakuba Valley pass are not valid at night. You can buy a night ticket online, or at the Escal Plaza ticket center on the second floor from 17:30.
Goryu opens on Saturday, November 21, 2026, with skiing on the Toomi No.1 lift area. The resort announced the date on October 1 and said it is the first time Goryu has fixed an opening day in advance. A new snowmaking machine makes that possible, and it moves the start about two weeks earlier than last season. Opening hours and which other facilities run will be announced closer to the day.
Hakuba47 had not posted a 2026-27 opening date when we checked in mid-October. Neither resort has announced a closing date. Last spring Goryu posted a notice about gondola operations on May 4 to 6, so the season has recently run into Golden Week, but check again in spring before planning around it. Our season calendar shows the confirmed and estimated dates.
The nearest station is Hakuba on the JR Oito Line. One direct Azusa limited express a day leaves Shinjuku at 07:30. Most people take the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano instead, which Hakuba47 puts at about 88 minutes from Tokyo, then a direct bus to Hakuba that takes about an hour. Direct buses also run from Tokyo and from Narita Airport.
By car, Hakuba is about an hour from Azumino IC on the Nagano Expressway, Nagano IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway or Itoigawa IC on the Hokuriku Expressway. Hakuba47 says its car parks are free and have more than 2,000 spaces.
From elsewhere in the valley, the Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus costs ¥510 one way for adults and ¥260 for children, and is free with a Hakuba Valley pass. A separate Triangle Shuttle runs between Escal Plaza, Iimori and Hakuba47, which is handy if you park at one base and finish at another.
Our Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba47 page has the weather, the season dates and a link to the resort's own live camera page. For snow depth across the valley, the Hakuba snow report puts Goryu next to Happo-one, Tsugaike and Cortina, and the live cameras page collects cams from other resorts if you want to compare. In early season, look at the base on the cameras. Toomi sits at the base, and bare patches there are easy to spot on a camera.
If you have not booked a bed yet, our where to stay in Hakuba guide covers the area around Escal Plaza at the Goryu base.
