日本でワーケーション:仕事とスキーを両立させる究極のガイド

Wi-Fi速度、時差、そしてスキー場のコワーキングスペース事情。上司に怒られずにパウダーを楽しむ方法。

The "Laptop Powder" Dream Can you log in to Zoom at 9 AM after hitting first tracks at 8 AM? Technically, yes. But you need a plan. The Reality: Japanese hotel Wifi is notoriously hit-or-miss. It’s often fast in the lobby and dead in the room. If you rely on "hope," you will miss a meeting. At JapanSnowWatch, our team works remotely from the mountains all winter. Here is our setup. --- 1. The Wifi Backup Never rely on the hotel alone. Pocket Wifi: Rent a high-speed router at the airport (e.g., Ninja Wifi). It costs ~$5/day and gives you a dedicated connection.

Tethering: Get a Japanese SIM card (e.g., Mobal or Ubigi eSIM) with 50GB+ of data. 2. Time Zone Strategy North America: You are in the future. US "End of Day" is Japan "Morning." This is tough. You might have meetings at 6 AM. Europe: You are ahead. Their morning is your evening. This is perfect. You ski all day, then work from 4 PM to midnight. Australia: You are in the same zone. You have to work 9-5. This means no day skiing, only Night Skiing (which is great in Niseko!).

3. Coworking Spaces Don't work from bed. Your back will hurt. Niseko: Go to Tanta An or the coworking space in Odin Place. Hakuba: Check out Hakuba Coworking near the station. Good coffee, fast fiber, ergonomic chairs. --- Test your speed immediately upon check-in (Speedtest.net). If it's slow, move to the lobby or a cafe. And remember to use a "Blur" background on Zoom. Your boss doesn't need to see the snow falling outside the window while they are stuck in a cubicle.
